Parametric curve x(t)=sin(3pit), y(t)=cos(2pit). t is between [0,2]. Find axis intercepts & turning points

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, lets find the intercepts x-intercept: where y is zero, it will cut the x y-intercept: where x is zero, it will cut the y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got that far and wrote that for x it equals sin(0) & sin(6pi) and both = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

therefore (x,y)= (0,0) & (0,2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what makes this difficult is we are in 3D, I didn't even notice: |dw:1381134432309:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it we haven't learnt about 3d yet it is just X & y axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's a parametric curve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but we have x, y and t ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

usually - we have just y(x) = ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok,I guess i go wrong approach

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know how to do this...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1381134784361:dw| what is t ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

t in between [0,2]
