I have a recursive equation I don't know how to solve. I'm guessing I have to express it as some sort of sum and find if it converges or not (posting as attachment).

OpenStudy (yamyam70):

well, first equation of course m1 should be given. if not use the 2nd formula to get m1, if and only if m2 is given. same goes to the 3rd and 4th equation.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

looks to me like you have 4 equations in 4 unknowns ..

OpenStudy (amistre64):

1a -1b +0c +0d = 2 0a +1b -1c +0d = 2 -2a +0b +2c -2d = 2 0a -2b +2c +0d = 2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

a b c d -4, -6, -8, -5 lets see if they fit

OpenStudy (amistre64):

-4 = 2 - 6 -6 = 2 - 8 2(-6) = 2 +2(-2) +2(-5) -12 = 2 -14 2(-5) = 2+2(-6) -10 = 2 - 12

OpenStudy (amistre64):

gotta head to class, not too sure if any of that is relevant yet :) good luck

Thanks, maybe I did something incorrectly since I expect the equations to be representing a converging sum. I will post what I did soon.
