y > -3x + 4 just sub your points in and see which one is correct (A) (-1,7) 7 > -3(-1) + 4 7 > 4 + 4 7 > 8 (not correct) (B) (0,3) 3 > -3(0) + 4 3 > 0 + 4 3 > 4 (not correct) (C) (1,3) 3 > -3(1) + 4 3 > -3 + 4 3 > 1 (BINGO...this works) (D) (3,-6) -6 > -3(3) + 4 -6 > -9 + 4 -6 > - 5 (not correct) It is C. =========================== -x - 2y = 6 -2y = x + 6 y = -1/2x - 3 y intercept is -3 to find x intercept sub in 0 for y -x - 2(0) = 6 -x = 6 x = 6 (x intercept) so plot your points (0,3) and (6,0) and draw a line to connect them ====================== 4x + y = -3 y = -4x - 3 you have a negative slope, therefore your line will falling ====================== same question as # 3
