What caused the Christmas Day Tsunami? What kinds of geographic forces were involved in creating the tsunami? Why were so many people caught unprepared? I read the article but was still confused. :/

Earthquakes and also underground plate tectonic movement. now what caused the tsunami was the earthquake that generated a 9.0 magnitude force. this force or shock waves displaced the water creating huge waves. the geological forces that were involved in this was or were the 9.0 earthquake caused by the India plate under the section called the Burma plate. The process has been going on for millennia, one plate pushing against the other until something has to give. the reason people didnt see it coming was the no one within the are of that were the tsunami hit no one had thought that another would hit since they never had been hit by for as long as they could remember thus they were unprepared
