You have decided that you are ready to start a fitness program. Why is it important to set short-term and long-term goals? How will you keep track of your progress toward reaching your goals? Why is it important to reflect on your progress?
Answerer #1 answered 1 year ago To keep motivated and to make sure that you're losing weight Rate Answerer #2 answered 1 year ago It's important to make short term goals first, because if you make a long term goal, then it will be harder to reach. Start small and work your way up.(: Rate Answerer #3 answered 1 year ago Long term goal is what you set as a finish line, think of it as a really long hard race! You can't just get up one day and start running nonstop, you have to take it in strides. Short term goals help you achieve smaller "distances" while still workin towards the finish line. Setting short term goals also helps motivate you. You feel better when you accomplish many things as opposed to just one. Example: you want to run 1200km in a year as a new years resolution. Your finish line. that's a big thing and you will feel good when you do it, but if you don't reward yourself along the way, you won't make it. So you decide to run 100km a month, or 28km a week! Short term goals that motivate you and get you to your finish line! These days keeping track can be done on smartphone apps, make a big chart in your house so you see it everyday, use a computer program or even a pad of paper! Example: the runkeeper app for IPhone is what I use for all cardio tracking. Cycling, running, walking, swimming... Reflecting on your progress helps keep you motivated and on the right track :) Hope this helps Chive On!
