seven friends shared some football. if they each receiverd 6 cards. how many cards did they start with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so 7 people are sharing cards. at the end of sharing each person has 6 cards.how many cards are there total? so there are seven people with six cards each. can you figure out how many that is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok six times seven is 42. but that doesn't look right to me it doesn't make sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what doesnt look right.. its all i can see from the information you ave up here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok but i went on another website and they say the answer is 6 so my answer was wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

six for each person you mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the problem you gave was that each person has six cards... so unless there is only one person there cannot be six in total.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

from the info given you cant know how many each person started with.. only the total that the group started with.
