OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

I Need Someone Good with Linear Functions, please, to check my work and solve some questions. - Don't Mind the Conversation that Has Already Been Made...

OpenStudy (primeralph):

We all are. You need to be more specific. Got to go.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Well, @primeralph. It is basically a thing covering the whole chapter I learned which is linear functions. But in this case, I learned relations and functions, function notations, graphs, graphin equations, and linear models. I just need someone to chec my work and solve some questions.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Which of the following statements best describes the effect of replacing the graph of f(x) with the graph of f(x) - 5? a. The graph shifts 5 units up. b. The graph shifts 5 units down. c. The graph shifts 5 units left. d. The graph shifts 5 units right. I chose B because I know f(x) is equal to y and -5 would be five points down.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Am I right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Okay, here comes another one.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

The graphs of functions f(x) and g(x) = f(x) + k are shown below. http://orange.flvs.net/webdav/assessment_images/educator_algebra1_v17/03_00_pretest/03_00_67.jpg The value of k is ___. I said that it was (-1, 4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. k would be the displacement not a point.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

So g(x)?

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

I have to consume supper. I will be afk for a while - can I tag you back? I will.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe. I might log off to study for a test, though.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

@blehbleh

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

I am going to put the question now...are you going to help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i am back

OpenStudy (anonymous):

go ahead. Put the question.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Oops - I already submitted the test when you came back.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait so what was k lol ?

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

I forgot. @Ughhhidk
