if you have the number 7, it's inverse would be 1/7 (7 is the same thing as 7/1) 2/3 would be 3/2 5/8 would be 8/5 switch the denominator and numorator "one of a pair of numbers whose product is 1: the reciprocal of 2/3 is 3/2; the multiplicative inverse of 7 is 1/7"
