There is no war in Ba Sing Se.
In the grand international nature of things, I also think trying to get some from different parts of the world is good. For example, @agent0smith is a teacher, so knows much about what is appropriate or not in an educational setting and (if I recall) is in Australia. I have also bumped into a few people in Greece, England, and China. Finding a few good people in places like that would certainly diversify the time zones.
Yes, we need more people from different time zones when the other mods are in bed.
@e.mccormick I'm an Aussie who lives in California.
Oy mate! No wonder your time zone seems to match mine for an Aussie! And I know another one that lives in SoCal. Married a friend of mine.
Agent0Smith, welcome to California.
If you know of others who may be good moderators - please pm me or email contact@openstudy.com. No self nominations please. And only over 18!
I'm the maintainer of the european timezone :D
im good this type of stuff
That sounds like a self-nomination to me :I
Its true, this site needs more moderation. I was looking at some of the chats, and I see curse words popping up everywhere!
I just got pm'd a horrible "joke" which was posted publicly. Nobody bothers reporting any inappropriate chat messages that pop up, and people keep doing it. I'm going to be lurking around and see who might fit the position. We need as many mods as we can get, we reached a milestone of 1.000.000 members!!
I report things I think everyone does, it is just there is not enough moderators to see all the reported things. (Go to the CS chat scroll up a bit and you will see someone saying something vulgar, I reported that quite awhile ago although very few people go to the CS chat.) It was posted on October 6 I reported that on October 6, still there :P. Also I remember @KonradZuse being a CS moderator, where did he go to? I enjoyed talking to him.
@Opcode I have a sneaking suspicion that a new mod will be lurking around the CS group and chat very soon.
@♪Chibiterasu See. More moderation.
Congratulations! And the crowd has given you your marching orders! Go now to Computer Science and calm things there!
While I doubt the all-powerful banhammer will have much need in CS, it will be nice to close the off topics and duplicates that do regularly plague the place. And I am sure there will be lots of other things to deal with... seeing as how my comments on some problems got me to this point.
Shall I close this question?
