solve for x: -5 [x+1] = 10 x=0 x= -3 and x=1 x= -1 and x= 3 no solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that "absolute value" as in \[-5|x+1|=10\]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the [ are just seperating the two @satellite73

@divu.mkr

i am not familiar with that notation, but because a couple of the choices have two answers, i am going to guess it is absolute value if it is absolute value, then there is no solution the expression on the left is negative, but \(10\) is positive

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if its a mod then answers are -3 ,1

@divu.mkr thankyou :)
