What prompted the Roman patricians to compromise with the plebeians when the plebeians seceded from Rome? They were intimidated by the plebeians' wealth and power. They wanted all Roman citizens to work together peacefully. They realized that without the plebeians there would be no soldiers to protect Rome. They needed plebeians to take care of their homes while they followed other pursuits.
