What is the difference between diffusion and osmosis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its important got the lipid bilayer to have both polar and non-polar components so it can have the all the different types of bonding between the same elements and the elements that are different and still attract. The lipid bilayer should have the benifit of equally shared electrons and uneaqually shared electrons between the atoms @Frostbite

Diffusion is the movement of molecules from a place with high concentration to a low concentration place through a semi-permeable membrane and Osmosis is the movement of molecules from a place with high water concentration to a low water concentration place through a semi-permeable membrane. Basically, the only difference between the two is that osmosis uses water and diffusion doesn't. Hope this helps!
