Solve the system by graphing.If the system is inconsistent and has no solution,state this .If the system is dependent,write the form of the solution for any real number x. y=5x-4 10x-2=6
hat emath
y = 5x-4 EQN 1 10x-2=6 EQN 2 now there's no y value in equation 2, so x is a constant 10x - 2 = 6 10x = 8 so x = 8/10 = 0.8 does that help @shakur ?
Can you draw the graph of the equation according to the quesition
|dw:1381287457488:dw|
According to my solution here is what I got y=5x-4 10x-2=6 10x=8 or x=8/10 y=5(8/10)-4=0
My problem is graphing it in 2 Lines
|dw:1381287519438:dw| this is one of them graphed
y = 5x-4 when y = 0, x = ...? 0 = 5x -4 4 = 5x x = 4/5 = 0.8 y = 5x-4 when x = 0, y = ...? y = 5x-4 y = 5(0)-4 y = -4 u now have 2 points on a straight ling, should be easy to graph (0, -4) and (0.8, 0)
|dw:1381287845033:dw|
that make sense @shakur ?
can you indicate the number on the point
y = 5x-4 when y = 0, x = ...? 0 = 5x -4 4 = 5x x = 4/5 = 0.8 y = 5x-4 when x = 0, y = ...? y = 5x-4 y = 5(0)-4 y = -4 u now have 2 points on a straight ling, should be easy to graph \[(0, -4) and (0.8, 0)\]
points are (x, y) format, i gave them to you above, now you work out which is which... it's not hard dude
