Lionel is saving money to buy a new music player. So far he has saved $35 and the player costs $129. He can save $16 per week from his allowance. How much more does Lionel have to save? A. Need to know the cost of the music player and how much he can save each week. B. Need to know how much he has saved so far and how much he can save each week. C. Need to know the cost of the music player, how much he has saved so far, and how much he can save each week. D. Need to know the cost of the music player and how much he has saved so far.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking. However, $129 (the cost of the cd player) - $35 (the money he already has saved) = $94 (the amount of money he still needs to buy the cd player). Based off of this information, we can figure out how long it will take him to save up for it if he can save $16 a week. Let x = number of weeks. $129-$35=$16x $95=$16x $95/$16=x (Hint: The Dollar signs cancel out here.) x=5.9375 So, it will take him 6 weeks.

Well I believe it looks to me like you're supposed to read the problem to find out the values its asking for. All you really have to do for this is write out the information you know from the problem. A. The player costs $129 and he can save $16 a week. B. He's saved $35 so far and can still save $16 a week. C. The cost is still $129, he's still saved $35 so far, and still can save $16 each week. D. The cost is still $129 and has still saved $35.
