As for the word roster, it helps you remember how that works.  Role call in a class, you read all the names off the roster.  Well, roster is like that.  {1,5,7,9} is a roster and every number is listed in it.  ... can be used to lead in and out of a continuing roster with a predicable pattern.  {..., -4, -2, 0, 2, 4, ...}.

For sets builder, the stuff on that site explains it pretty well.
