Hi, I am new, can someone jus put me on track?
I don't know what you need help with.
Get the 2.7.5 Python, it is made to work with the 6.00 or 6.00ES courses. If you ask a question about the class materials, try to remember to say the year because there are differences from the 2008 to the 2011.
if you are using Python 3 or higher you should check the manual provided by the language itself.
go for Python Programming for Absolute Beginners by Michel Dawson....a decent book for the new ones
I went to www.python.org/ and downloaded Python 2.7.5 I then went to the .exe file in what I downloaded, adn apprently opened a shell, and was able to execute some basic code....
That is one way to do it. If you use the installer, it will make some icons. This will cover the basics of using idle: http://www.cs.uky.edu/~paulp/CS115F11/labs/Lab0.html
