determine whether vectors are linearly independent v1=(3,8,7,-3) v2=(1,5,3,-1) v3=(2,-1,2,6) v4=(1,4,0,3) ok i know to be linearly independent vectors should have only trivial solution in matrix ax=b but how to applyit to this problem? I dont know should vector go in row or in column and where variable go?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

linearly independent means... no vector intersects with another? i forget?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if a scalars that satisfy the c1+c2...+cn=0 is c1=0 c2=0 cn=0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that it means to be linearly independent. if they c not = 0 then it is dependent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if I understand it correct

OpenStudy (perl):

one moment :)

OpenStudy (perl):

a set of vectors is lin. independent if
