Say, I have a point, which in cartesian coordinates is (0,0,z). What will be point be in spherical coordinates?
I don't know that these conversion equations are what you are seeking. But, here they are. There is an online calculator that converts from Cartesian 3-space coordinates to Spherical coordinates. http://keisan.casio.com/exec/system/1359533867 @Festinger
@Directrix I am not really looking for an equation, there is a singularity when x=0, y=0, z>0 where THETA is zero, while PHI is undetermined. I am hoping that there is something I can write to represent such a point (in a delta function) in spherical coordinates.
it turns out that at the z-axis, you ccan choose whatever THETA angle you want, it does not affect the results. Thanks all for your help and I hope this reply and help somebody in the future!
