A hair salon owner needs to have at least 7 total employees including stylists, s , and assistants, a . The stylists charge $40 per hour, and the assistants charge $25 per hour. Each hour needs to have at least $270 in billing. The owner wrote the following system to try to find the best number of employees where s is the number of stylists and a is the number of assistants.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[s+a \ge7 \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[25s+40a \ge270\]

OpenStudy (austinl):

I think you have the prices swapped.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A The inequality sign should be reversed in the first inequality. B The inequality sign should be reversed in the second inequality. C The operation should be subtraction in the first inequality. D The coefficients should be switched in the second inequality i have to choose one of this

OpenStudy (austinl):

Take another look at your second inequality.

OpenStudy (austinl):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (austinl):

"The stylists charge $40 per hour, and the assistants charge $25 per hour." Now look at your second inequality, something look off?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it's A

OpenStudy (austinl):

You need to have at least 7 stylists and assistants (s+a). That needs to be at least, so greater than or equal to. \(s+a\ge7\)

OpenStudy (austinl):

What is the price of a stylist? What is the price of an assistant? What values are given for each in the second inequality? Are they correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so!!! it's A ya

OpenStudy (austinl):

No.

OpenStudy (austinl):

You aren't doing what I am asking, if you go through that little list, the correct answer is glaringly obvious.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm not understsnd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

really can u tell me the littter

OpenStudy (austinl):

Go back and look at the prices given for each employee. \(\color{red}{\text{The stylists charge 40 per hour, and the assistants charge 25 per hour}}\) Now look at the inequality for price per hour. \(\color{blue}{25s+40a≥270}\) Now, does this seem to fit?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know but i need u tell me what litter it can fitted

OpenStudy (austinl):

I'm done, I have explained this as absolutely clearly as I can. If you don't understand what is going on with this problem and don't recognize the incongruities... And I don't just give answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

know pls help me because i'm not understand this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need help pls
