Help? Identify three major problems faced by farmers after the Civil War. Explain how farmers organized to address these problems.
Here's two of three: Agricultural prices were too high so they created the Farmers' Alliance to negotiate for lower prices. The Farmers' Alliance was a huge reform in the South. Farmers everywhere with the same goal; lowering commodity prices were joining despite others' religion, political views, etc. Many would soon learn that railroads weren't as wonderful as they thought. Sure, a train could transport your product to another part of the U.S. in a matter of days (depending on start and end location) however, they were expensive. The Populist Party was the remnants of the Farmers' Alliance. members of such party set out to advocate the public ownership of railroads.
Part of it is slaves no longer working, so many farmers would have to either pay former slaves or hire new workers
Thanks guys :)
