How will you weigh the weight of the weighing machine given that there is no other weighing machine left?(there aint any weighing machine such as spring balance etc etc)
hmmm good question.. lemme think!
can't i use a physical balance? :P..
how would you?
i ll take various stones.. and measure their weights using the given weighing scale.. so then i have standard stones.. then i ll use the physical balance.. and put the weighing scale on one side.. and those stones whose mass now i know on the other side until the scale is balanced..
Physical balance does not exists for this question. Its already mentioned. No other balances!
Flip the scale upside down.
Is the density given? You can merely use volume x density to find the mass. Calculate the volume by simple calculations
@stryver-i think you are on right track..
wait.. i have a solution.. a tedious one take a large column of water.. and fill it to the brim.. take your weighing scale and put it in the water.. some water will spill out.. collect all that water in one container.. now watch as the weighing scale moves down until it hits terminal speed. now remove the weighing scale and measure the weight of the water spilled.. that will give the buoyant force. Then find the viscosity then u can calculate the drag force (at terminal speed) sum of buoyant force + drag force = mg... which is the weight of the weighing scale.. cause after terminal velocity net force is zero.. yippppieee :D
