Ok, so would you agree that what I've drawn makes sense from the question?

Point a is at (x,5) and point b is at (x,2)  (x can be any number on the x axis i just didnt write one)

Are they 3 units down from each other?

The gradient of the first line would be 0 as the difference between x and y is 0, the second one would be one, as the difference between them would be 1, what about our case, where the difference is really really big? (As big as you can get)
