I would like to learn how to code games and then learn more like using scientific methods to create new things.

Some college classes cover game design.  All intro classes cover using the scientific methods to break programs into smaller parts and have these little parts solve little problems.

Penn State has an Intro to programming that is interactive and on Coursera for free.  It started a new cycle this week.
