Why would a diverse population be more resistant to disease, predation, and invasion?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A diverse population refers to a group of people who inhabit a specific area but have different characteristics such as differing cultures and traditions. The people have distinct or uncommon elements that can differentiate them yet they inhabit the same place. It means they have different ideas, different ways to solve problem ,so they help each other in different ways as a result a divers population would be more resistance to disease, predation and invasion. ok friend.
