Solve the inequality. 4/5x + 5 < -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I subtracted each side by 5 first. Getting 4/5x < -8 so then to get x alone I have to multiply by it's reciprocal which would be 5/4 (4/5x) < -8/1 (5/4) which leaves me with x < -10. But then when I check my answer & do 4/5 (-10) + 5 < -3 I'm left with -3 < -3 which doesn't make sense because -3 is not less than -3. So help please!?
