We call an argument "valid" if it is the case that the truth of the premises necessarily imply the truth of the conclusion. Validity refers only to the logical structure of an argument. It is possible for the claims of an argument to have false premises and even a false conclusion, but for the argument to still be valid. We call an argument "sound" if the argument is valid AND all the premises, and conclusion, are true.
