@agent0smith ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jim_thompson5910 @atlas

OpenStudy (atlas):

Substitute B(t) = 1000 and solve for t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.1983 to the nearest intiger is.. 1?

OpenStudy (atlas):

yeah u are right!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thankssss im gunna have more problems, can you help pleaseee

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf B(t) = 50\cdot e^{2.5t}\qquad 1000\ count\implies 1000= 50\cdot e^{2.5t}\\ \quad \\ \cfrac{1000}{50} = e^{2.5t}\implies 20 = e^{2.5t}\\ \quad \\ \textit{recall the log cancellation rule of }\quad log_aa^x = x\\ \quad \\ 20 = e^{2.5t} \implies log_e(20) = log_e(e^{2.5t})\implies log_e(20) = 2.5t\)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

and I gather you can get it from there, just solve for "t"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16^x=64 is the answer not 3/2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3/2 rounded to the nearsest decimal place is 1.5 right??

OpenStudy (atlas):

yeah that is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.2958 rounded to two decimal places is 3.30, right??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@atlas

OpenStudy (atlas):

absolutely

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x≈2.0794 = 2.18? or 2.08?

OpenStudy (atlas):

how can it be 2.18??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk.. the 7 makes the 0 into a 1 and then the 9 makes the 7 a 8 is it 2.08 ? rounded to two decimal places?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@atlas

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (atlas):

No it is not like that............we would have increased 0 to 1 if we wanted to eliminate 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huh?

OpenStudy (atlas):

since we want two decimals......we don't want to eliminate 7..........we want to eliminate digits after 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 2.08

OpenStudy (atlas):

so we look at the digit after 7..........it is 9>5 so we increment 7 to 8

OpenStudy (atlas):

yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@atlas

OpenStudy (atlas):

what do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B?

OpenStudy (atlas):

No...how did u do it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cross multiplied

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you do it? im on number 27 out of 54.. and its due in less than an hourr

OpenStudy (atlas):

when there is a division.........sign you invert and multiply

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh i got it

OpenStudy (atlas):

An hour is a lot of time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im slow.. no solution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or is the answer 64?? @atlas

OpenStudy (atlas):

This is the same as what you did earlier..............16^x =64

OpenStudy (atlas):

The answer is 16^(3/2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which =64 ?

OpenStudy (atlas):

yeah
