Which model relates the gasoline sold as a function of the number of months since the beginning of the year? How many gallons of gasoline will be sold in the months of November and December, and during which month will the gasoline sales exceed 50,000 gallons?

the function for this question has to take using linear regression... though I know it I haven't learned it completely yet , so it's difficult to me to explain what is linear regression is.. nway... when u have a set of data which show no constant data pattern u can form the function for it using above method... Also.. ther r online calculator which can di that... http://easycalculation.com/statistics/regression.php so.. the function for the problem is.. f(x) =1.2727x + 30.54 which can be round off to f(x) = 1.27x + 30.5 now to find the amount on November find f(11) which is 1.27(11) + 30.5 =44.47 = 44.5 to find the amount in December find f(12) which is 1.27(12) + 30.5 =45.74 = 45.7 to find the month which will exceed 50 000 f(x) = 1.27x + 30.5 50 = 1.27x + 30.5 1.27x = 19.5 x = 15.35 which will be during the 15 th month hope this will help ya!!!
