Help please?? I am attaching a picture.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they are congruent

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

But how are they congruent? I learned it last year, but this year I forget.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because of the 2 lines that are the same on the bottom of both triangles, and the 1 side thingy that the same on the side. Also, they have corresponding parts like the angles A and B on both. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

medal plz :]

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

Thank you! Could you help me with one more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no prob, and yes :p

It looks like the what might be missing out of the problem statement, that which zepdrix alluded to, is that PQR is similar to TSR. Is that what you are intending?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ifthat is what you are intending, then PQ is congruent to TS, RS is congruent to RQ, RP is congruent to RT. So are corresponding angles.

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

Yes they are congruent and similar, but it is asking for congruent parts.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Notice how the second triangle is "flipped over" when matching up sides.

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

So only the angles and sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

okay thanks SO much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you put triangle PQR symbol triangle TSR...all you have to do is sort of distribute, so P=T, Q=s, and obviously R=R.:-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yw :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anything else?

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

Could you check me answer for this? I said Triangles with congruent sides do correspond. Am I missing something or did I get it wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok give me a sec

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

Okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A student says that since all isosceles right triangles are similar, all isosceles triangles that are similar must be right triangles

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

Thank you SO SO much!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

very welcome :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anything else? ^,^

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

Nope. Thanks again!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright, have a good day! :)
