Integrate help please!

OpenStudy (dls):

\[\Huge \int\limits \sqrt{(x^2+4)} (x^2+1)\] I thought of letting x=1/t but no luck

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hmm yah I can't seem to find a good substitution. Seems like you might just want to expand out the brackets:\[\Large \int\limits x^2\sqrt{x^2+4}\;dx+\int\limits (1)\sqrt{x^2+4}\;dx\]

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Second integral would involve a trig sub. First one would be ummmm, integration by parts.

OpenStudy (dls):

Lets talk about 2nd one how about 2tanx?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Yah that seems like a good sub :)

OpenStudy (dls):

and in the 1st one.. the first function should be x^2?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

|dw:1381353766980:dw|Hmmm I think this works...
