OpenStudy (shamil98):

2.5 = n + 0.125 2.375= n

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Converting the fractions into decimals makes solving the problem much easier, just a tip.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you convert fractions into decimals?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I forgot how

OpenStudy (shamil98):

well you just divide it 1/8= 0.125 1/2 = 0.5 2 + 0.5 = 2.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then work out the equation from there? that's all?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Yeah, it's simple :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about the 2 1/2? oooh you add the two?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Yes, 2 1/2 = 2 x 2 + 1 = 5/2 5/2 = 2.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so my answer would be 2.375?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Yes. n = 2.375

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait for this problem it shows that i need to keep numbers in fraction form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@shamil98

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Convert the decimal into a fraction then!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OOOOOOOOOOOOOH how do i do that? :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 3/8?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

2 2/8 = n 2/8 = 0.375

OpenStudy (shamil98):

3/8* yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. thanks for your help :)
