OpenStudy (doggy):

Can somebody help me with this? (radicals)

OpenStudy (doggy):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you see the error in the first step on the second part of distrubuting sqrt(3)?

OpenStudy (doggy):

No?.. I honestly have no clue how to do anything with radicals.. Radicals are like my worst enemies right now ;-;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh haha ok ok, i will back track then, in our case right now, just pretened sqrt(3) is X so, the equation would look like x(-2 + sqrt(20)), can you distrubute the x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it should look like this: -2x + x*sqrt(20)

OpenStudy (doggy):

Oh wait.. So is the answer A. the student did not properly distribute the radicals?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, do you understand why though?

OpenStudy (doggy):

I think i do o:

OpenStudy (anonymous):
