hey is anyone online that thinks they can help me with some biology questions? would give medal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe I could help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks just a second....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which of the following is NOT a true statement about ATP? a. ATP consists of ribose, adenine, and three phosphate groups. b. ADP is produced when ATP releases energy c. ATP provides energy for the mechanical functions of cells d. Used ADP is discarded by the cell as waste

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D. I believe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The cell normally takes the used ATP (which is ADP) and pumps additional phosphates in to re-form an ATP. ATP consists of 3 phosphate groups (T is for Tri-phosphate), releasing one of these creates energy for the cell, and results in 2 phosphate groups in the molecule (D is for Di-phosphate). With the right processes, a phosphate group will be re-attached, forming another tri-phosphate, or ATP. Hope that helps - Yahoo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks do you think you can help with some more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Shoot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the role of ATP in the cell? a. transport energy b. drive photosynthesis c. maintain homeostasis d. initiate cellular respiration

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am going to guess A, but give me a minute to look it up.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ATP is the basic unit of energy that cells use...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am 90% sure it is A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Any other questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What happens during photosynthesis? a. heterotrophs consume ATP b. heterotrophs produce ATP c. autotrophs consume organic molecules d. autotrophs produce organic molecules

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks that was the last one(:
