Let f(x) = 3 x + 2 and g(x) = 4 x^2 + 2 x. (f \circ g)(5 ) = Please help! I can't solve this!

OpenStudy (homeworksucks):

what's \circ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

composition.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First find \(g(5)\).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[ g(5) = 4(5)^2+2(5) \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That will give you some number, plug that number into \(f(x)\).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

btw in order for latex code to show up in here you have to surround it with \[ \text{\[ Latex code goes in here \]} \] So your (f \circ g)(5) goes to: \[ \text{\[ (f \circ g)(5) \]} \implies (f\circ g)(5) \]

Thank you!!!
