@ananata is right! To boost the immune system, the body recruits more WBCs or Leukoctes

alveoli- those are the sacs in your lungs that conduct oxygen (not even close) RBCs- aren't going to increase during infection (they just transport O2 mainly) Platelets- those are mostly involved in blood clotting when you get a cut and start bleeding
