If somebody needs help with 6-8th grade algebra I'd be happy to help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Help, not tell the answers. I'll work you through it (:

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Why can you never divide by zero?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because when you divide by zero, you're asking how many times 0 can go into a number, 0 can go into 5 zero times. Dividing by zero produces an undefined.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its like 0+0+0+0+0+0, it doesnt work out.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

What do you mean by "undefined"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just ignore that bit, I couldn't think of the proper mathematical term

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

zero can go into zero

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0/0 isnt really needed in a equation...it's just 0

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

0/0 =?= 0

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

But I said "NEVER" divide by zero.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0 goes into 0 0 times, 0 goes into 5 0 times, thats why you never divide by zero, it only equals 0 and doesnt amount to anything.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

So it always equals 0?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

just like zero times anything equals 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

But division and multiplication are different, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not really, they are just opposites like add and subtraction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you actually need help with this I gave you an asnwer @_@ if you dont like it ask somebody else, im only in 9th grade geomotry
