Hint: Graph y = cot x and see when cot x > 1 (note that cot x = 1 at 45 degrees and 225 degrees).

One final hint: The cot of an angle is positive in quadrant 1 and 3. Use that info in conjunction with the hint I gave you earlier and you should clearly see when cot x > 1.
