Carlos and Maria drove a total of 191 miles in 3.8 hours. Carlos drove the first part of the trip and averaged 49 miles per hour. Maria drove the remainder of the trip and averaged 52 miles per hour. For approximately hour many hours did maria drive? round your answer to the nearest tenth if necessary.

let x be the total distance travlld @ 49 mile per hour
then according to question distance travelld at 52 mile per hour will be.. (191-x)

so time taken to travel distance x will be

time =distance/speed
ie x/49

and time taken to travel rest distance at 52 km will be
(191-x)/52

and total time is given that 3.8 hour

ie x/49 +(191-x)/52 = 3.8
