Find greatest common monomial factor of the terms of the polynomial. 8x3y2 – 24x2y3 + 40x2y2 A. 4x2y2 B. 16xy C. 4xy D. 8x2y2

Look at the constant terms of all three monomials, 8, 24, and 40. What is the greatest common factor or the greatest number that goes into 8, 24, and 40?Answer is 8. Do the same for the x terms, x^3, x^2, and x^2, so x^2 is the greatest common gactor of all 3 of them. With the y's...y^2 is the greatest common factor. So the GCF of the entire expression is 8x^2y^2. HTH.
