The difference between SER and ESTAR? Well, even though they are both verbs, they are completely different. SER is "to be". For example, yo soy rico (I am rich) or nosotros somos altos (we are tall). ESTAR is where you are. For example, yo estoy en Florida (I am in Florida) or Ellos estan en Nueva York (they are in NY).
