2dimensional motion: a ball is droppedfrom the top of a building. The falls 3 times farther uring its last second freefall than it did during its third second of freefall. The ball fell 4.9 meters during its first second, how tall s the building and how muh time is the ball in the air?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

this is actually only 1-dimensional motion. You're given info about 2 different windows of time, but the ball is still moving only in the vertical direction. The equations of motion dictate what time and speed the ball will have through each section of motion. Start with\[\Delta y = \frac{1}{2}at^2\]where \(a = -9.8\frac{m}{s^2}\)
