Find an equation of the line that satisfies the given conditions. y-intercept 2, parallel to the line 2x + 3y + 4 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the equation I arrived at is y= (-2/3)x +2 but the software for my assignment says thats wrong.

OpenStudy (ranga):

You have the correct answer in the slope-intercept form. Try to put it in the form Ax + By + C = 0 and see if the software likes it.

3y+2x-6=0?

OpenStudy (ranga):

yeah.

OpenStudy (ranga):

I would put the x term first much like the equation for the other line: 2x + 3y - 6 = 0

it worked in standard form, i hate mathlab....

Glad it worked.
