-8m+13+2+m-6 For m= 1/2

OpenStudy (gk99):

-4 +15 + 1/2 - 6 11 and 1/2 - 6 = 5 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all you have to do is substitute all the m's for 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dont go gk99 I still need help my computer is just so slow :(

OpenStudy (gk99):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that I have to substitute the m's for 1/2 I just don't understand where you got the 4 from

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you multiply -8(1/2) you get -4

OpenStudy (gk99):

-4 +15 + 1/2 - 6 11 and 1/2 - 6 = 5 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't you have to convert 1/2 to a decimal because I dont understand how you would multiply 8 by that fraction

OpenStudy (gk99):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh you divided 8 by 2 but why? Sorry not good at math :(

OpenStudy (gk99):

You divide -8 by 2 to get -4 :)

OpenStudy (gk99):

Anytime you divide a negative by a positive, it always will qual a negative

OpenStudy (gk99):

equal*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok so 1st we were multiplying and now we are dividing because that is the oppisite right?
