v= pi * r^2 *h ?
Directrix (directrix):
That formula is for the volume of a cylinder. Try again.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
v = 1/3 pi * r^2 * h
Directrix (directrix):
Correct.

1/3 3.14*23.4^2*37.5 = 21491.73 ... it isn't one of my options.
Directrix (directrix):
The formula calls for radius. The 23.4 is the diameter. So, take half the diameter and then square what you get. Then, it should work out. Try again. I'll wait.

1/3 3.14 * 11.7^2 * 37.5 = 5372.9325

You're a life saver. (: @Directrix
Directrix (directrix):
I used just pi in my calculation.
(1/3)*pi*(23.4/2)^2*37.5 = 5375.66 approx

I deserve a medal for effort. lol.
Directrix (directrix):
Did the problem state to use 3.14 as an approximation for pi?
-----------
The only way to get stronger in math is to practice. Practice ups performance. The mistakes make you stronger. Seriously.
Directrix (directrix):
BTW, I ran your calculation through with the 3.14 and got what you did.
