what is electropositivity?

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

It is the tendency of an element or ion to repel the electron density :) most of the alkali and alkaline earth metal ions are electropostive :) they posses this bcoz of their stability :) in other sense you can say they electropostiveness is opposite of the electronegativity :) WELCOME TO OPEN STUDY :)

mathslover (mathslover):

Or in simpler words : It is the tendency of elements to donate electrons to form positive ions. Generally, the elements having the electropositive property are metals. P.S : Greater the Metallic Character , higherr the electropositivity of element.
