How do I write a composition? It has to be 24 measures long, have one part for a pitched instrument and one part for a nonpitched instrument. All has to be organized in 3 clear melodic phrases, with the last note of each phrase a downbeat. All 3 phrases should be separated by rests. Please help!! I have no clue what I'm doing. Will give medal to the best answer!

well I would go about writing the pitched instruments first, and then U should know how to tackle the rest of the composition with the non pitched instruments from there.

I don't know how to make it, or what music notes mean/sound like, or how to read them. :/

me either... Just go with what u feel, don't think about what the musical notes mean they are just letters with signs next to them sometimes. In this case do what sounds good to u... Maybe u should tackle it by nonpitch instruments first and then add the pitched instruments making a melody.

but always start of by figuring out which tempo and time measure u would like the piece to be in.
