find the constant variation k for the direct variation. 2x+6y=0

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Solve the equation for y, and put it in the form \(y = kx\), then \(k\) is the constant of variation. In other words, once you solve it for y, and you have y alone on the left side, the number that multiplies x on the right side is k, the constant of variation.
