4.A quality control inspector is in charge of inspecting drill bits that are produced on an assembly line. The diameter of a drill bit can be modeled by the equation |x − 0.525| = 0.01. Show your work in solving the equation to determine the minimum and maximum diameters of the drill bits.

Are you sure it's not <= 0.01 or < 0.01 ? The equation is meant to show us that the actual diameter is never more than 0.01 (cm? mm?) from 0.525

OpenStudy (aurorab):

positive i copied and pasted this question!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. just convert your equation into 2 separate easy to solve equations x - 0.525 = 0.01 or x - 0.525 = -0.01

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first equation will give you your maximum the 2nd equation will give you your minimum

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the problem doesn't even give you units??? mm? cm?

OpenStudy (aurorab):

LoL nope... \:

Whoever wrote that question is a space cadet for 1. Not using a < or <=, and 2. Not including units haha
