Ok.. do you understand how different number bases work? What do you need help with exactly?
sorry im just writing exactly what the teacher wrote really
Figuring out the equations... I have no Idea how to work them I had someone help me the other day and he was awesome but I can do it if someone walks me threw it
yes
yes I understand base 10
All a different base means is that it says what "10" represents in that base. So, "10" in base 4 is 4. "10" in base 8 is 8. And, of course, "10" in base 10 is... 10!
how I remember it is its the original base like it doesnt change...but the other stuff other than 10 and adding and subtracting and all I get confused!!
First dont we have to change 362 into a decimal?
You can do the math in base 7 without converting. but it might hurt your brain. It hurts mine, anyway.
Yeah it already hurts mine!
Write it out vertically. Like back in first grade. And then remember you have to "carry the 1" every time the value is greater than the base, in this case, 7. Instead of 10, like usual.
Ok for instance on that question 362seven + 526seven I have answers to go by but not getting them lol
362 +526 ----- So we add 2 + 6. That's 8. Which is more than 7. So instead we have 1 left (8 is one more than 7) and carry a 1. Are you with me so far?
Loser66 I was trying to read your thing and for some reason not showing up on my end? Yes I understand that for sure...this is totally different than what a guy showed me other day but I will follow
I'm showing you how to do the math actually in base 7. It's faster than converting if you can grasp it.
OH ok that works Im learning :)
362 +526 ----- ? ? 1 With our carried 1, our "sevens place" is 1 + 6 + 2 = 9. That's two more than 7, so we write a 2 and carry a 1 again. With me so far?
