Find the value of x and y
what is the problem?
A. x=15,y=12 B. x=14.y=11 C. x=14,y=12 D. x=15,y=11 Which one?
Start here. Since those two angles are congruent, you could set them equal to each other and solve for x.
ok. now what ?
So, you should now have the value of those angles. The angle 12y+1 and either of those other 2 angles are supplementary. So, now you should be able to solve for y.
What did you get for x?
idk still trying to figure it out
Well, you can't really move on until you do. Did you set those equal to each other?
no, I didn't know had to do tht
2x+7=2x-7 Now move all your constants to one side, and variables to the other. Do you know how to do that?
yes
i think so, because im not good at geometry
Solving for x isn't geometry, so you're good. ;) Did you try? I don't hand out answers. Sorry.
yes i did try but i keep getting some crazy answer so yea i did try
OK...let me write it out and post a picture instead of trying to type it in.
Tell me what you don't understand.
ahh i see what you did there now i remember how to these, thanks
So, do you think you can solve for y?
yea i think so
OK. :) Tell me when you think you have the answer to the problem.
y=12
Yup. So the answer is...C, right?
Yes mam
